The Church Body Needs You
Discover your spiritual gift.
Then, get involved in a ministry so you can use it.



The great thing about spiritual gifts is that everybody has at least one.  Some people have more than one, but you have at least one special spiritual ability give to you by the Holy Spirit.  The purpose of spiritual gifts is simple: “A spiritual gift is given to each of us as a means of helping the entire church.” (1Cor. 12:7). The apostle Paul compares the church to a human body, which needs all of its parts to function. (1 Cor. 12:12).


We may think certain body parts are more important than others, but you’ll never hear your eye tell your big toe, “Hey, smelly, I’m better than you.”  Your body needs every part to function effectively, and so does the church. Next time you think the church doesn’t need you; remember that you have a gift to give.  Search the Scriptures, pray, and ask your pastor to help you discover your spiritual gift.

Now there are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of them all.
